About beauof

Last updated: August 27, 2026

Shopping for K-beauty from outside Korea is hard. Product pages are translated badly, ingredient lists are incomplete, and many "reviews" are paid placements. beauof shows what is in the bottle before you buy it, and which celebrity-brand deals are confirmed by a public source.

What we do

  • Check product data. We check Korean retail prices, and when we find a product's full ingredient list we link the source it came from.
  • Show what is in the formula. We say which ingredients appear in a sourced ingredient list. We do not give products a safety score, an EWG number, or a grade.
  • Match by personal color. Our personal color tools help you narrow shades down to the ones that suit your undertone.
  • Find cheaper equivalents. Our dupes pages compare formulations side by side so you can see whether a cheaper product is the same thing.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell products. We are not a store.
  • We do not accept payment to change a ranking.
  • We do not claim any product treats, prevents, or cures a medical condition.
  • We do not publish sponsored posts disguised as editorial articles.

How we make money

Running this site costs money, so we are direct about where it comes from. There are two sources.

  • Affiliate commissions. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. If you buy through a link on this site, we may receive a commission. This never changes the price you pay, and it never changes where a product ranks.
  • Advertising. Some pages carry ads. Ads are kept visually separate from our own content and are labelled, so you always know which is which.

Rankings use only facts shown on the page: the number of active idol and actor deals we confirmed with a source, the Korean retail price we checked, and whether a sourced ingredient list includes fragrance. A higher commission does not move a product up.

Medical information

Our clinic and treatment pages describe procedures that are widely performed in Korea. They are informational only. Nothing on beauof is medical advice, and no page here is a substitute for consulting a licensed doctor. If you have a skin condition or are taking medication, speak to a dermatologist before starting any new product or procedure.

Where our data comes from

  • Full ingredient lists from the manufacturer or retailer, linked on each product
  • Public reports of idol and actor brand deals, linked on each deal
  • Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety public databases
  • Published dermatology and cosmetic science literature
  • Retailer listings for current pricing

Found something wrong?

Ingredient lists get reformulated and prices change. If a product entry is out of date or incorrect, tell us and we will check it and correct it. Brands may also submit documentation if they disagree with how a product is described.
