How we verify

beauof lists brand deals between K-pop idols or Korean actors and beauty brands, plus the products those brands sell. This page explains what we check, what we do not check, and the current state of the data. The numbers below are counted from the database every time the site is built.

1. What counts as a deal

A deal is a paid role the brand announced: global ambassador, brand ambassador, muse or model. A photo of a celeb holding a product, a fan post or an airport sighting is not a deal, and we do not list it. A deal also does not mean the celeb uses the product every day.

Ambassador contracts end quietly. Every deal carries one of these states. Past deals stay on the page, clearly marked, because people still search for them.

5. Prices and photos

Prices are what a Korean or global retailer listed on the date shown on the product page, converted at a fixed rate of 1,350 won per dollar. They change often; the store is always right. Product photos come from brand or retailer pages and link back to where they came from.

6. Ingredient lists and rankings

We copy each product's full ingredient list from the brand's site or a retailer that prints it, and link to that page with the date. So far 155 of 205 products have one. From the list we only say whether something is on it: fragrance, the 26 fragrance allergens the EU requires on labels, ethanol, silicones, parabens, and common actives such as niacinamide or ceramides. We do not grade ingredients and we do not use hazard scores.

We do not test products and we do not give them a score. Our lists are sorted by one fact you can check: the number of active idol deals at the brand, the price, or whether fragrance is on the ingredient list. Earlier versions of this site showed a combined score and hazard numbers that were not backed by sources. We removed them on 2026-10-25.

7. What they say they use

A brand deal is a contract. What they use is a separate list of things a person said or showed they use. We only list an item when the person said it on camera or in their own post (S), in a major outlet interview (A), or their named makeup artist said it (B). Fan guesses are left out. Two people check the original video or article before an item goes up, and every item is matched against our deal records again, so anything from a brand they work with is labeled as a deal brand. When a video or post has no ad label we write "No ad label", which does not prove it is not an ad. Video links jump to the moment; we do not copy frames.

8. Clinics and treatments

Treatment pages are general information, not medical advice. beauof is not a medical institution or a registered agency for international patients, so we do not book treatments, recommend a specific doctor or take commission from clinics.
